Visits with Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Brown

While in San Antonio a few weeks back, we were also able to visit with Justin’s grandparents. Grandma Brown made us a delicious dinner Thursday night, and we took them out to dinner Friday night. Sophia had a great time running around and playing with toys, she definitely made herself at home.

We also got to hang out with Uncle Jeff on Friday. He brought over a wooden horse that Grandpa Brown made, and Sophia fell in love with it.

It was a bummer that we didn’t get to see everyone; Sophia would have loved to play with all her little cousins. We can’t wait to visit soon so that we can meet the new additions as well.
This past weekend Grandma & Grandpa Brown came to visit us. Sophia wasn’t feeling too good, but she definitely recognized them. We all got to hang out on Saturday and Susie made us a scrumptious dinner, followed by homemade cookies and ice-cream; well the ice-cream wasn’t homemade, but maybe next time…hint hint :) Justin also provided us with some yummy potatoe rolls, that Susie and I enjoyed (oh, how I love you hubby). While Nana was making dinner, Sophia watered her plants and tried to water the cat too.
Meepers, the kitty, was too fast for Sophie

She loves watering anything that she can
On Sunday we meet up in Mesilla and headed to La Posta for some dinner.

It was nice visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Brown. They are now headed to Phoenix to watch Brandon (Justin’s cousin) graduate from high school, Amanda and Justin will also be joining them on Tuesday. Congrats Brandon, we are proud of you!

Tori Graduates!

The reason we went to San Antonio last weekend was to see my cousin Tori graduate from the University of Incarnate Word! I cannot express how proud I am of her; she has accomplished so much in four short years at UIW. Tori has always been like a little sister to me, we are very close and she is Sophia’s Nina. She attended UIW on a soccer scholarship and was the best goalie that they have ever had (yes, I am biased).

Not only did she play soccer, she maintained a good GPA and worked part time. Of course she managed to enjoy herself as well, she knows all the great places in San Antonio to go dancing and have a good time! She was also named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Lone Star Conference on more than one occasion! You can find an article about her here.
Tori received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Bilingual Communications/Public Relations. One day, you will see her on TV…here is a preview:

Although it was hot and humid, UIW had a beautiful graduation ceremony. The procession started out with a group of men playing the bag pipes and dressed in kilts and all, followed by the graduates. It was hard finding Tori, but when we did, my family went crazy (there was about 25 of us there supporting her).

David Robinson, yes from the San Antonio Spurs, was one of their speakers. I was actually really impressed by his speech. He will be getting his Masters next year from UIW.

Good Job Victoria! We are all so proud of you and love you very much!!

SeaWorld

This past weekend we made a trip to San Antonio for my cousin Tori’s graduation (more on that in the next blog). We decided to meet up with some friends at Sea World on Friday, and we had a blast. Unfortunately Jaime was unable to join us, but we had a great time with Danita and Quinn, who drove down from Austin to meet us. It was the first time that Sophia and Quinn met; they were shy at first but became buds by the end of the day.

We enjoyed the day watching shows, getting splashed, seeing animals/fish, pizza, frozen lemonade and riding the merry-go-round. The girls were too small for the rest of the rides, but they really enjoyed themselves at the Sesame Street Bay of Play.
Our favorite show was Azul, it had belugas, dolphins, birds, and acrobats, the girls were really entertained.

Sophia and Quinn also experienced their first 4-D movie, Quinn did good, Sophia on the other hand screamed every time the kids thought something was cool. They would yell out and it would scare her, she was also not a fan of the water and air that was hitting us.  I was impressed with Quinn, she kept her glasses on the whole time and seemed to enjoy it.
The best part of the day was watching the girls play at the Sesame Street Bay of Play, I could not get Sophia to leave, she loved it.

Yup, thats my baby :)

I'm sure Quinn thought Sophia was crazy

We watched the Shamu show for a bit, but the girls started to get tired, and it was really packed.
Quinn is such a cutie

By the end of the day, Sophia was worn out. She decided to nap as we were exiting the park, perfect timing:)

Justin was such a trooper the whole day, he didn't complain once and was stuck with all females, good job hubby! He pushed strollers, held on to purses, and waited at the table while the girls changed and waited in lines for things. I am really glad that we got to meet up with Danita and Quinn; we can’t wait to see them soon. Next time we do, they will have another PiƱa added to the bunch, definitely an excuse to visit soon!
